67th Annual GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS returns to SKY

Sky Movies HD and Sky1 HD announce that the 67TH ANNUAL GOLDEN GLOBE® AWARDS will be returning to the channels, following a successful first run last year.

With Ricky Gervais recently announced as host, the awards are already on course to be one of the best yet.

For 2010’s ceremony, Claudia Winkleman will return as the host for Sky Movies HD’s live coverage from their London studio, while Gethin Jones joins the team as the live Los Angeles red carpet host for Sky1 HD. Airing on Sunday 17 January, the ceremony looks set to be as entertaining and as glamorous as ever, with the award winners often anticipating the outcome for the Oscars® the following month.

Claudia Winkleman, who will be joined throughout the live broadcast by experts to comment on the winners, the losers and the big surprises, said: “”I always get properly excited about the Golden Globes because there are always surprises and a certain feeling that actually anything could happen. Last year Kate Winslet forgot Angelina Jolie’s name and this year Ricky Gervais is hosting. All in all it’s win win and I can’t wait”

Gethin Jones added: “I’m really excited to be heading to LA for the Golden Globes® – one of the biggest events of the year for the entertainment industry. I’ll be on the red carpet, right in the middle of all the glamour and picking up all the hot gossip for the viewers back in the UK.”

For those viewers unable to watch the live ceremony, Sky1 HD will broadcast a one-hour package, the GOLDEN GLOBE® HIGHLIGHTS SHOW, which will include pre-awards chat with the stars as they arrive on the red carpet plus a few words with the winners, losers and party goers as they continue celebrating and commiserating into the early hours.
