The Sensual Figure in Movement by Annett Bank
One Nation Magazine’s Editor recently discovered the work of Annett Bank and felt he had to share Bank’s combination of artistic power with gentleness, beauty and strength.
Bank’s works are about picturing a life lived fully whilst experiencing the pleasures of the mind and senses, she believes when we surround ourselves with beautiful objects such as paintings, furniture, accessories, lighting and gardens we make a symbolic statement about our own beauty. These things harmonize our thoughts and lives and soon our mind starts to clear and brighten. All her paintings posses the same strong dynamic, colourfull and vibrant elements that are intriguing, and highly stimulating to the eye. Many of them refer to the concept of being ‘light & fluid’ as they assume no boundaries, or limitations of the body.
One Nation Magazine Editor’s choice is Bank’s Dancer Series – Return of Joyfulness. “With my strong following of the arts this series is a collection that would not only delight but inspire – they show a performance you are hypnotised by – an awe inspiring vision.”
You can find these works at the Sundial Clinic & Gulliver’s Hotel in Kemp Town during the 2010 Fringe Festival in Brighton – on show until 16th June!
