Anna Friel Lights Up Bond Street – Merry Bond Noël

Christmas in the capital is a spectacular occasion and nowhere feels more special than London’s famous Bond Street.

Renowned for its elegance and heritage, this luxury destination has Christmas shopping down to a fine art.  The Christmas count down begins on Thursday 19th November with the annual Bond Noël celebration. The street is transformed into a snowy winter wonderland in aid of the new Louis Dundas Centre for Palliative Care at Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

Bond Noël celebrates the traditional family Christmas with snow falling along the entire length of Bond Street, fir trees lining the pavements, reindeer, carol singers, entertainers, fireworks and musicians all adding atmosphere to this Christmas extravaganza. The street’s famous luxury stores offer Christmas hospitality, gifts with purchases and other festive delights while rickshaw sleighs are on hand to whisk shoppers to their favourite designer stores.

‘Flicking the switch’ for Bond Street is a tradition started by Diana Princess of Wales in 1994 and has been continued by a host of glamorous and talented women ever since.  This year who could be more fitting than the award-winning actress Anna Friel?  Already an accomplished stage and screen actress, Anna is currently wowing audiences with her glamorous portrayal of Truman Capote’s Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s at the Theatre Royal. So it will be Breakfast at Tiffany’s and tea at Asprey on Thursday 19th November as Anna lights up London’s most glamorous shopping destination.

The event gets underway at 5.00pm, with the switch on at 6.00pm, on the corner of Old Bond Street and Burlington Gardens. Visitors to Bond Noël can enjoy all the fun of the street’s entertainment as well as hospitality and of course the world’s finest Christmas shopping in all of the famous stores on Bond Street and the surrounding area until 8pm.
