Boyzone To Host A Tribute To Stephen Gately on ITV1

10 Star Entertainment have secured their first commission with ITV1 to produce a one off big studio special in memory of Boyzone star Stephen Gately. The 60 minute special, Boyzone: A Tribute to Stephen Gately, will air on ITV1 later in the Spring.

This upbeat and heart-warming tribute will feature a series of show-stopping Boyzone performances and special one-off collaborations dedicated to Stephen, and a series of intimate VT’s telling the inspirational story of Stephen’s short life.

Boyzone will be performing a medley of their greatest hits, including; Love Me For A Reason, Picture of You, No Matter What, When the Going Gets Tough and their new single, Gave It All Away.

The show will also feature an exclusive premier of the new Boyzone material, poignantly the last music Stephen made. Many more friends and admirers across the entertainment world will also take part, publically paying tribute to Stephen.

In addition to the spirited performances, the show will feature a number of engaging and moving VT’s chronicling Stephen’s story, from his humble beginnings in Dublin and early rise to fame with the band, to his success as a solo performer and musical theatre star, as well as including warm memories of Stephen by his friends and family.

This unique one off studio special will be a fitting tribute, not only to a talented singer and performer but to someone regarded as a gentleman, inspiration and role model to millions of adoring fans.

Louis Walsh, who will appear in the show, said of the tribute, “Stephen would be delighted to have a night dedicated to him and I know he’ll be watching down on us all on the night a big smile on his face.”

Bea Ballard said of the commission, “Stephen was a brilliantly talented artist, whose life was tragically cut short. This special will be a great celebration of his talent, and the enormous love, affection, and admiration with which he was held – by his family, by his fellow artists, and by the public. It is wonderful to be working on such a special and important project as 10 Star’s first commission.”

This is the first commission secured by 10 Star Entertainment since CEO Bea Ballard set up the company in 2009. Bea is no stranger to entertainment shows, as former Creative Head of BBC Entertainment and an award-winning producer and entertainment executive, Bea has been responsible for some of the biggest hit shows and formats including: How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? Any Dream Will Do, Parkinson, The Two Ronnie’s Sketchbook, the Rose D’Or award-winning One Night With Robbie Williams and Elton John at The Royal Opera House, amongst many others.
