Calvin Harris returns with a new single You Used To Hold Me through Columbia Records

Taken from the No.1 album Ready For The Weekend, it follows in the footsteps of his previous chart topping and dancefloor smashing singles I’m Not Alone, R.F.T.W and Flashback. You Used To Hold Me is backed by a series of huge club mixes courtesy of Laidback Luke and Nero, and an explosive video packed full of monster truck action.

2009 was a break out year for Calvin that saw him sell in excess of 1 million singles and 150,000 albums in the UK,  write and produce several No.1 hit singles for both himself and others, sell out his entire tour (with over 50,000 tickets sold in advance), crowd winning performances across all of the UK’s major summer festivals, Calvin also completed several high profile DJ tours and residencies across the globe and saw him truly step out of the shadows into becoming one of the UK most unique and engaging pop stars on every level.

He ended 2009 with a triumphant appearance at London’s 02 Arena on New Year’s Eve and begins 2010 as he left off; with an Australian tour, further studio work and lots more DJing and shows in the pipeline.

A connoisseur of the true art of dance music, Calvin Harris looks set to lead the genre well into the next decade.

“A rock star ready for the big stage, rather than a bedroom producer” The Independent

“Ready for the Weekend is big bold and colourful 21st century electro dance pop executed with considerable panache. Songs start out simple and organic, introducing lyrical and melodic motifs that wouldn’t sound out of place on a Coldplay anthem, before opening up with some big synths into pumping disco and house tracks. The pop genius is in the way these develop and mutate rather than settling into obvious dumb grooves. “ The Daily Telegraph

“Onwards, upwards and into new realms of synth-pop splendour” Metro

“This album will cement his status as a dance floor demigod” New

“The Caledonian Justin Timberlake” Independent On Sunday

“Killer riffs and disco wig outs” Marie Claire

Ready For The Weekend and You Used To Hold Me are out now on Columbia Records.
