CAPRICA the prequel to the Emmy®-winning Battlestar Galactica
Intelligent and utterly immersive, the prequel to the Emmy®-winning Battlestar Galactica arrives in January 2010.
The critics’ favourite reached its stunning conclusion earlier this year, and now producers Ronald D Moore and David Eick are taking viewers back to the beginning, 50 years before the Battlestar story began, with the all-new Caprica. This much-anticipated series, which recently added former Buffy star James Marsters to its impressive cast, promises to enrich Battlestar Galactica lore, depicting a time before the Human/Cylon war and the events that led to the Cylon occupation.
When 16-year-old Zoe Graystone (Alessandra Toressani) is killed by a suicide- bomber, her father, Daniel (Eric Stoltz, Pulp Fiction), discovers that she shared his computer genius and had downloaded her personality and DNA into an online hologram, creating a digital version of herself. A grief-stricken Daniel goes one step further, building a robotic replica of his daughter, Zoe-R, the first Cylon. Meanwhile, Joseph Adama (Esai Morales, NYPD Blue), father of future Battlestar commander William, loses his wife and daughter in the same blast and decides to follow Daniel’s methods…
Delving into Battlestar Galactica’s origins, this thought-provoking drama explores the moral and ethical ramifications of not being able to let a loved one go.
