They say in London you’re never more than four feet away from a rat

Well meet the City Rats, eight troubled teenagers struggling for recognition and approval in London Town.

Jim and Sammy have had enough of the rat-run and are testing their will to take their own lives. Dean is a struggling artist feeling the strain who finds inspiration in Gina, an experimental prostitute with a dodgy leg. Then there is Olly who is struggling in a world of sexual confusion whilst looking after his deaf-mute brother, Chris, who it transpires not only has gay feelings also but is more at ease with his. Their older brother Pete is being stalked by the mother of his old gangster pal, who is searching for her son.

This movie lifts the drain cover of London’s dark underbelly whilst boldly exploring everyday issues of sexuality, disability, ethnicity, love life and death. Throw in the the likes of boxer turned big-screen heavyweight Tamer Hussan, Ex-Eastender’s star Ray Panthaki, the gorgeous James Lance and East London’s favourite Danny Dyer – you have yourself a must-see film.
