Diesel’s Flash for Fun denim, tees, sneakers and even intimates collection show their double personality

Flash for Fun

Diesel Flash for Fun range – gear you’ve just got to be seen in

The latest fashion innovation from Diesel is just what you’ve got to be seen in this autumn – and thanks to some clever technology, you can’t really be missed. Glow-in-the-dark jeans and T-shirts, together with fluorescent trainers and underwear, are the must-haves for the coming autumn / winter 2009 season.

The collection, developed by the Diesel Creative Team, headed by Creative Director Wilbert Das, has been conceived for those who know how to play hard day and night, and don’t have the time to change in between. Instead, their clothes change for them, bringing a touch of chameleon culture to fashion.

A special fluorescent coating, devised to be glaring under UV lights, is layered on denim and cotton. Through this treatment, Flash for Fun pieces are discreet during the day but reveal their extremely bright details and stitches at night. On denim, hidden graphics are revealed under black lights.

For us boys, on the slim fit denim worn during the day, an Oriental dragon comes to glowing life on the back pockets when the sun goes down. Girls wear skinny low-waisted jeans, either printed with disco ball’s mini mirrors creating a degrade effect or with earphones in a trompe l’oeil. Graphics are visible when exposed to darkness thanks to those smashing UV lights abundant in clubland.

Stitches and back patches appear on denim only at late night together with the distinctive Diesel pocket stripe, presented in a dedicated acid colour version.

When the night is on fire, T-shirts and tank tops reveal the nocturnal ‘alter egos’ of clubbers’ day looks with irreverent slogans that gleam against the dark backdrop of the club. Messages on dark denim trainers move to the rhythm of the dance floor while vibrant colourful intimate unveils itself from underneath.

Outrageous.
