With just over a month to go, tickets are selling out fast for Harvest at Jimmy’s; a mouth-watering weekend of locally-produced food and fantastic musical performances from a host of world-class artists
Jimmy Doherty is bracing himself for the arrival of thousands of people over the weekend of the 12th and 13th September for his first ever Harvest at Jimmy’s – the festival that brings together leading chefs, locally-sourced produce, world-class music and children’s entertainment for two days of family-friendly fun. Tickets are selling fast for what is set to be the food and music event of the year. Featuring KT Tunstall in her only festival appearance of the year; local and leading chefs like James Martin – along with an unparalleled range of local producers, Harvest at Jimmy’s is the perfect weekend for food-lovers; families and anyone else looking for a blissed out weekend.
A Food-Lovers Delight
Taking place in the heart of Suffolk, Jimmy’s Farm will be the setting for a two-day celebration of the best of British food. Harvest at Jimmy’s will showcase delicious, sustainable and freshly-made food, whilst revealing how the UK’s top chefs get the most from these ingredients through a series of master class cooking demonstrations from celebrity chefs James Martin, Gino D’Acampo, Gennaro Contaldo, James Wong, Anjum Anand and Rachel Allen. Recently confirmed additions to the chef roster include MasterChef 2009 finalist and Norfolk-based Chris Gates and the Michelin-starred Galton Blackiston, who’ll be showing the crowds how to use fresh locally sourced ingredients to create simple yet delicious meals. Jamie Oliver’s very own Fifteen Restaurant will be taking over the
farm’s huge barn for the duration of the festival; providing an interactive Jamie Oliver experience for visitors.
Harvest at Jimmy’s will truly be a treat for all the senses. The pride of East Anglia’s food-makers including Suffolk Gourmet Ice Cream, Stour Valley Smokehouse, and Suffolk Farmhouse Cheese will be showcasing their delicious wares at the festival farmers market. Jimmy’s very own Rare Breed Pork sausages will be sizzling on the BBQ throughout the weekend and, in celebration of the festival, Jimmy will be launching his own brand new, limited-edition festival pork, cranberry and chestnut sausage as an extra special festival treat. With Suffolk’s finest cider on tap at the Aspall Barn Bar all weekend, visitors can indulge in the ultimate food-lovers’ festival experience.
With world-renowned food-makers, chefs and music stars flocking to the Ipswich farm for the weekend, Harvest at Jimmy’s has enjoyed unprecedented support from the local area, with caravan parks and hotels enjoying a surge in demand. Jimmy says: “We’re delighted that the festival has caught the imagination of Suffolk, and beyond. Everyone is really excited about the line-up, and looking forward to sampling some of East Anglia’s finest food. With our farmer’s market and chef demonstrations – not to mention a delicious new festival sausage to try – we’re anticipating a real food-lovers feast.”
Musical Highlights
Harvest at Jimmy’s will provide the perfect musical line-up for an Indian summer. Stadium-filling Athlete, internationally-renowned José González, Mercury Prize-winning Badly Drawn Boy and KT Tunstall are all among the festivals impressive musical offering. Joining these big-hitters will be a host of rising stars playing throughout the two day festival, including Radio 2 favourite Jon Allen, the beautiful Wallis Bird, the heart-breaking Sam Lewis and rebellious country and Bluegrass-tinged Prints of Whales.
A host of incredible new artists will be taking to the main stage on Sunday, to provide blissed-out summer balladry and raucous rock. Peter and the Wolf, 6 Day Riot, Delta Maid, mesmerising folk band Tunng, along with local bands The Great Shakes and The Cheek, will entertain throughout the day before the sensational Seth Lakeman takes to the stage to bring Harvest at Jimmy’s to a laid-back, feel-good finish under the Harvest moon.
