It has been announced that the Queen of Hip-Hop, Missy Elliott, is on board for the Saturday of Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard

Missy Elliott is the first lady of Hip-Hop and the only female rapper to have six platinum selling albums under her belt. A hugely respected record producer as well as acclaimed singer/songwriter, Missy Elliott has consistently pushed the boundaries and crossed them.  The mastermind behind massive club hits such as ‘4 My People’ and ‘Get Ur Freak On’ is sure to mix it up in a big way as part of this Super Saturday session of Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard in Hyde Park, which also features co headliners LCD Soundsystem and 2manydjs Live plus DJ Shadow, U.N.K.L.E and The Big Pink.

More acts have been added to the Friday of the Festival, including Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, the brilliant live band founded by Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters.  Also announced is American New Wave band Hockey who made their mark on the festival circuit last summer and will be back with a live set bigger and better than ever before. Highlighted by music critics as one of the people who will ‘shape the sound of 2010’ London born singer Neon Hitch has already worked with the likes of 50 Cent and The Streets and is now set to wow the crowds at Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard this summer together with fellow newcomer and exciting new addition, Bluey Robinson who will play both Friday and Sunday.

Adding to the already stellar Sunday line-up, headlined by mega star JAY-Z, is the UK’s very own Chipmunk, who won Best Hip-Hop act at the 2009 MOBO Awards, topped the charts with one of last summer’s hottest hits with ‘Oopsy Daisy’ and slammed straight into the Top 5 with debut album ‘I AM Chipmunk.’  Showing the strength of UK artists, another breakthrough act confirmed is Tinie Tempah.  The London born MC hasn’t even released his debut album yet but he’s already smashed the singles charts, going straight to the No.1 spot with massive hit ‘Pass Out’ and was included in MTV’s ’10 for 2010’  – the biggest acts to break this year.

Having recently collaborated with Lil Wayne and Eminem on single ‘Forever’ at the Grammy’s, Canadian born rapper Drake is one of the most exciting new artists of 2010 and will unveil songs from his much anticipated debut album.  Next up is Hackney born rapper Professor Green who was originally signed by Mike Skinner and has won over 100 international MC battles to date. Last year he toured with Lily Allen, who will perform one of her last ever live sets at Wireless.  It’s from Washington to Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard for breakthrough American rapper, Wale, who also joins the Sunday bill.

London lads Chase & Status are arguably the current champions of the Drum ‘n’ Bass scene.  They quite literally gave ‘More Than A Lot’ with their musical feast of an album last year, which not only spawned them three No.1’s in the UK Dance Chart but catapulted them into the mainstream music scene.  Last year, the duo had heir first Top 10 hit with single ‘End Credits’ featuring fellow Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard artist, Plan B.

Last but by no means least, is the addition of firm festival favourites, Friendly Fires.  Hailing from St Albans, the three-piece dance punk band released their debut self-titled album to rave reviews in 2008, notched up a Mercury Music Prize nomination in 2009, followed by two nominations at the 2010 BRIT Awards, for British Breakthrough Act and British Group.  There’s no denying that these boys are on fire and their set at Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard on Sunday 4 July is certain to be one of the highlights.
