The Trafalgar Tavern located on the banks of the River Thames

Even the most modern of marriages can benefit from a bit of period charm. And when it comes to historical venues in which to hold the nuptials, Inc Group’s portfolio boasts a couple of real gems

One of the capital’s most unusual – and most beautiful – wedding venues, The Trafalgar Tavern is located on the banks of the River Thames, in the heart of the Greenwich World Maritime Site. As well as literally oozing period charm, the venue also has a Civil Wedding Licence for up to 200 people.

Erected in 1837, the building still retains its glorious bay windows, elegant balconies and soaring columns. The entire first floor can be yours for the whole day – for flower deliveries early in the morning through to a late bar and music until midnight. Your ceremony, the meal and dancing take place in the Nelson Banqueting Rooms. Overlooking the river, this space offers gorgeous views of London to complement the plush surroundings. Next door, the Admirals Gallery and Ante Room can be used for reception drinks and presents.

Meanwhile, built in 1832 and located above the colonnaded entrance to Greenwich Market, Clarence Hall was the first purpose built music hall in the county. Today this glorious building has been completely renovated and now provides a stunning venue for any type and scale of wedding or special event.

The focal point of the building is a truly magnificent room located in what was once the main auditorium. Here the double-height splendour has been accentuated by a sympathetic refurbishment enlivened by such eye-catching elements as back-lit ‘tutti frutti’ glass panels and Anthony Stern hand-blown coloured glass chandeliers.

Clarence Hall can accommodate up to 80 people seated and 200 people for buffet style wedding or special event.

Operating from both venues, Inc Group’s sister company, Instinct Events, can organise every aspect of a wedding or special event from flowers, food and the all-important champagne through to security. The company also has excellent contacts with a host of local DJs and bands.
