Liberating Travel – Holiday planning giant Expedia.co.uk adds LGBT Search Tool
Expedia.co.uk, the UK’s leading online travel booking site, has added an LGBT search filter into its hotel options to serve as a resource for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender travellers so they can more easily find LGBT-welcoming hotels when planning and booking their breaks.
The new option has been created in partnership with the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA), the leading global organisation dedicated to connecting businesses in the LGBT tourism industry.
“At Expedia.co.uk, we aim to be the best online travel booking site and we hope this tool will simplify and improve the research and booking experience for more of our customers. We have more than 500 gay-friendly hotels to choose from with some great deals,” says Andrew Warner, Expedia’s senior marketing director EMEA.
The LGBT travel filter was created after research illustrated the difficulty in finding prejudice-free hotels. Expedia worked in partnership with the IGLTA to determine the hotels available and travellers can now search under Hotel Preferences for “LGBT-welcoming” hotels.
Expedia currently offers broad range of hotels in 15 main-stay destinations in North America and Europe including cities such as Barcelona, Berlin, Paris and London. Hotels are searchable within each destination.
