V the re-imagining of the 80s miniseries from the producers of The 4400, Alias and Angel
The Visitors have arrived. They are now among us.
Simultaneously appearing in every major city in the world, they promote a message of peace. They want to share their knowledge of technology and their view that we should all be one, not divided by country, not divided by fear. They want us to unite. And to do so, they are counting on an important component of human nature: devotion.
A compelling reimagining of the landmark miniseries about the world’s first encounter with an alien race, V stars Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost, ER, Frequency, Gia), Morris Chestnut (Boyz n the Hood, The Best Man, The Game Plan), Joel Gretsch (The 4400, Push, National Treasure: Book of Secrets), Lourdes Benedicto (24, NYPD Blue), Logan Huffman (America), Laura Vandervoort (Smallville, Instant Star) with Morena Baccarin (Firefly, Serenity, Heartland) and Scott Wolf (Everwood, Party of Five, Go).
At first considered a threat, the Visitors — or V’s — quickly become a fascination and a link to the things that lay just beyond reach. For Tyler (Huffman), a teenage boy, they are his ticket to being a part of something big, something that offers hope; and when he meets Lisa (Vandervoort), an alluring Visitor, she encourages these thoughts. To Chad (Wolf), a career-hungry news anchor, his exclusive interviews with Anna (Baccarin), the leader of the V’s, are crucial to his dominating the airwaves. Father Jack (Gretsch), a priest with questioning faith, is hesitant to believe in the righteousness of the Visitors and goes outside the church to search for the truth.
There are other dissidents who believe the Visitors are not who they say they are, including Ryan (Chestnut), who is faced with a life-altering decision when the V’s show up, a decision that could affect his fiancée, Valerie (Benedicto). And when FBI Counter Terrorist Agent Erica Evans (Mitchell) discovers, while investigating the formation of a terrorist cell, what lurks beneath the alarmingly human exterior of the Visitors, resisting this new world has never been more important — and never has there been more at stake. It truly is the dawning of a new day.
From The Scott Peters Company and HDFilms in association with Warner Bros. Television, the series airs on SCI FI in 2010.
V is executive produced by Scott Peters (The 4400, The Outer Limits), Jeffrey Bell (Alias, Day Break, Angel), Steve Pearlman (Reunion, Related) and Jace Hall (F.E.A.R, Condemned: Criminal Origins video games). Created by Kenneth Johnson, the series was developed by Peters.
