If you attended a party where the focus was on crocodile, python, ostrich and chinchilla you may be forgiven for thinking that you were spending the day at the zoo.
Not this party. This was the preview of luxury designer Zilli’s Autumn/ Winter collection.
Founded in 1970 and with only 15 boutiques worldwide, including London’s New Bond Street, this is an exclusive brand in every sense of the word. ZIlli is a family run business where all steps are taken to ensure that a belt, which takes eight hours to make by hand, compliments their existing range of luxury clothing collections.
This season’s new fabric, made exclusively for Zilli, is a blend of 50% cashmere and 50% chinchilla. This label is not for the vegans out there with additional pieces including pink crocodile shoes, mink and calfskin moccasins, python belts, deerskin gloves and ostrich clutch bags. But when you can afford £2,000 plus on a piece of outerwear or £3,000 plus for a suitcase then you are probably already accustomed to the bizarre combinations of fashion items available to the rich and famous.
We were content with refreshments on offer consisting of champagne and macaroons, as there was nothing to distract us from the opportunity to admire these beautiful pieces of art before they are all snapped up.
